Once the scan is complete, we are able to share an immediate visual diagnosis to help patients truly visualize and better understand treatment options. The Imaging Sciences International i-CAT®, a leader in Cone Beam 3-D dental imaging, offers enhanced features for the most effective treatment planning and surgical predictability. i-CAT technology offers the fastest scan and reconstruction rates in the industry; the system’s standard scan takes only 8.9 seconds, with reconstruction in less than 30 seconds. The i-CAT features an Amorphous Silicon Flat Panel Sensor with Extended Field of View option to capture the entire skull, 17 cm in height and 23 cm in diameter, as well as the ability to focus on a specific area capturing smaller fields of view down to 4cm in height. Included with the system is the comprehensive yet easy-to-use i-CATVision™ software that can be freely shared with colleagues along with scans that are a manageable file size of less than 50 MB. The ability to export scan data in DICOM allows clinicians to work within their third-party imaging software of choice. The new optional Tru-Pan program—the industry’s first one-click volumetric pan—yields consistently clear and precise panoramic views from 3-D scans in seconds.

The I-CAT is especially beneficial for implant patients as it produces cross-sectional (sliced) views. This allows us to measure the exact dimension and bone quality with amazing precision, which is crucial in assuring an accurate and predictable surgery.
