Teeth Whitening

Clean white teeth have become the top aesthetic topic for most dental patients. Tooth whitening is a non-invasive treatment that changes the colour of your natural tooth enamel, enhancing your smile and confidence.

All new Able Dental patients who have a complete dental exam receive custom-fit whitening trays, included in the new-patient exam fee.

Many people use home tooth-whitening products which whiten teeth dramatically. But whitening works only on natural tooth enamel. To achieve success, you should consider replacement of old restorations (fillings and crowns). New restorations are installed after the whitening process to ensure a colour match.

Teeth whitening is done for the following reasons:

  • Fluorosis: excessive fluoridation during tooth development.
  • Normal wear of your outer tooth layer.
  • Stains caused by medications, smoking or coffee/tea consumption.

You’ll require two visits with your Able dentist, one to create impressions of your teeth to produce clear plastic trays, the second to fit and adjust the trays.

Typically you will wear the trays with a whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for two weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening and whitening method.

Your Able dentist will help you create and maintain your healthy white smile. If you have questions or if you would like to talk to one of our patient-care co-ordinators, or book an appointment, please call our toll free line at 1-800-552-8053 or click here to find a location closest to you.
